Upon completion of a Photography Diploma in June 2006 Roddy graduated with Merit from Glasgow Metropolitan College in November 2006.

During his studies, Roddy developed a working relationship with some of the leading Broadsheet Newspapers in his home country of Scotland with his press work being recognised by his shortlisting for the title of 'Scottish Young Photographer of the year for three consecutive years in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

He celebrated the beginning of his freelance career with a comissioned exhibtion project by St Mungo's Museum of Religiosu Life to document the Afro Carribean communities of Glasgow, a project which was well received by the community and national media; the Guardian listing the work as 'one of the top then things to see with your weekend.'

The same year he was selected to take part in The Missouri Photo Workshop, studying under instruction from Picture Editors and Photographers from National Geographic and Time.

His work continues to take him travelling across the world, having now completed journeys across five continents and 16 countries.
